We
live on the South Coast, in fact many of us can look out
and see the Solent from our homes and yes we know that
within a few very short miles are some of the most stunning
wrecks the UK has to offer. Not surprising really when
you consider that Weymouth, Southampton & Portsmouth
are major maritime centers and have an extended history
of operations. Throw in a few natural hazards like the
Needles and two World Wars, then you have a recipe for
a lot of diveable wrecks.

The
Varvassi aground on the Needles Bridge - 1947
First
off though we need to hone skills and get things right.
Which is why we'll always use inland sites, mostly quarries
such as Vobster and sometimes Cromhall to configure kit
etc.

Then
it's off onto one of our chosen modes of transport. The
RIB is used mostly for shallow upto 20m stuff and then
it's onto the big boys like Tango & Wight Spirit for
the deeper more adventurous ones.
SUCS
dives all along the South Coast, from Littlehampton right
down to Plymouth, but our main stomping ground is naturally
the Solent. Being the sub-aqua club of Solent Uni, it
couldnt really be anywhere else!
Have
a trawl round these pages and see why UK Diving has so
much to offer. :-)
