Wave 105 DJ Makes a Splash at ANDARK



Simon Clarke from Wave 105 spent 5 hours in Andark's Pool on Tue 15th Nov beating the previous record by an hour for the longest underwater live broadcast. This was a major logistical operation and support was given by the Uni's Outside Broadcast Unit and SUCS as part of the adjudication team. Money raised by the event will go for the Care for Kids charity, so well done to Simon and Andark for all the effort.

Me and My Mate Phil

Well our very own Rachel (2nd right) popped up to the Palace last week to have a chat with her friend Phil, seems there was some sort of award or something.
She'll be along shortly with a report about what's on those bits of paper.

Vobster Bonfire Dive Trip
Saturday 5th November

 A very early start and a long day, but it was well worth it to kick off the UK training for this semester and for some the first UK diving experience - eek!.

Big it up for a newest additions to the drysuited UK diving fraternity Alex C, Alex M, Lizzie, Kai & Amir. Next step, BSAC Sport Diver

Once the training was over, time for the seniors to play with a night dive, followed by a firework display.

PADDY Gains OWSI
Congratulations to Paddy who has become the third SUCS member to gain Professional Instructor Status this year as a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor.

Currently roughing it in the 30 degree heat of Hong Kong, he gained status alongside 3 of his Mandarin Divers workmates. (Paddy is the one with the dreads BTW).


Dive Leader Pack Reduction
Calling all PADI Divemasters
Although a PADI DM is seen as the equivilent of Dive Leader, some DM's have asked to do the course rather than just get a rubber stamp, so to make it easier we've reduced the price of FULL Dive Leader training packs to £20. This includes manual and c-card application - quite a bargain.

And before those doing Dive Leader get upset, pack prices are reduced for all those doing DL.


Even More Kit !!!!
We've boosted the quantity of kit available for the pool on Tuesdays, there will now be 28 full rigs in use, so plenty for all.
